Hotels which are located within the city centre are very convenient and helpful, both for the large amount of tourists who come here and the steadily growing number of business travellers.
The citizens of Oswiecim prefer that their town not to be known by its Germanic name of Auschwitz. Hotels in Oswiecim are visited mostly by those planning on visiting the former extermination camp of Auschwitz, or rather places commemorating the Jewish heritage and the Holocaust. Auschwitz concentration camp is one of the most visited places in Poland, but most of visitors to the town only drop in there on their way to Zakopane, Wroclaw, Krakow or Prague, and so the number of hotels in Oswiecim is thus rather limited. Yet, they seem to provide enough accommodation for all visitors to the town.
