Kuyavian-Pomeranian Province lies in north-central Poland. Being an amalgam of several historic regions of Poland, it is quite diverse. The two major cities are Bydgoszcz and Torun, both worth a visit – the former is a vibrant trade centre with a complex of picturesque historical granaries while the latter, considered one of the most beautiful towns of Poland, is a pearl of Gothic architecture. There are also historical sights dating from the Middle Ages, such as the church in Strzelno or the castle ruins in Kruszwica, as well as a model of Iron Age settlement in Ciechocinek and the charming spa town of Ciechocinek, both undoubtedly worth a visit. The region is attractive also because of a great national park situated in the northern part of the region, a lovely area of wild forest.
