The Coastal region, located in the north-western area of Poland, is a popular summer destination. The seaside is dotted with smaller and larger towns, which mushroom into bustling resorts during summer. Some of them are located at Wolin Island, a beautiful wild area included into Wolin National Park. Sandy beaches are its main attraction. There are also a number of historical sights to explore around the area and attractive spa towns. Its capital is located in Szczecin, a large town next to the German border with some interesting monuments and historical buildings. The southern part of the province is dominated by lakeland, more popular as a peaceful holiday area than the famous Masuria.
