Located in the western part of the country, not far from the German border within the Odra and Nysa Luzycka valleys, Lubuskie Lakeland is a region with an extensively diversified landscape. Gorzow Wielkopolski is a major urban centre in the vicinity of Lubuskie Lakeland. The closest international airports are located in Poznan and Wroclaw. Gorzow does have an airport (in Babimost, some 35 km to the north-east), but it only offers regional flights. There are flights on a daily basis from Warsaw to Zielona Gora. No direct flights are available from Krakow, Poznan or Wroclaw – they are all routed through Warsaw. However, there are direct trains from Poznan, Wroclaw, Warsaw and Krakow for those who choose not to travel by air or car.
